Boxing - Paddy Brennan Boxing Academy & Fitness Centre (Tenbury ABC) is fully Affiliated to AIBA

The Paddy Brennan Boxing Academy & Fitness Centre was founded by Martin (Paddy) Brennan, an experienced and qualified head coach.

Paddy has a lifetime of experience in the world of boxing, as a former Amateur International and Professional Boxer.

 

We believe that the well-being and welfare of our members should come first and have an excellent team of professional coaches, volunteers & medical staff supporting the centre, including a  Registered Physiotherapist and Emmett Practitioner who is also the Child Welfare Officer.

Tenbury Amateur Boxing Academy Acheivements

 

Tenbury Amateur Boxing Academy was set up in 2009, and since then has been widely regarded as an ABA flagship club and its achievements demonstrate its ability to lead the way in a number of fields:

 

  • It was the first in the country for a coach to win the Volunteer of the year award in 2010 & 2011

  • It is also the first Boxing Club in Worcestershire offering boxing as a medium to achieve GCSE’s

  • It will be the Midland High Performance Centre and Coach Education Centre for Midland Counties

  • We have held a number of Nation “England” Training Camps

  • In 2012 Paddy Brennan won the High Achiever award for Volunteer & “Coach Of The Year”

  • In 2011 the club was awarded the coveted title of “National Amateur Boxing Association Club of the Year”

  • It also won the Pride of Tenbury Wells Community Club Award and acredited  with “Club Mark” in recognition by Sport England of its commitment to develop a high quality, welcoming environment for young participants

  • Tenbury Boxing Academy has been accredited with the qualification ASDAN, and can now support other clubs and coaches up and down the country by providing a support and moderation service.

  • In addition Tenbury Boxing Academy represents the Positive Youth Action group in Tenbury and participates in getting the young people into Jobs and further education.

 

All secondary school head teachers attend this meeting and the action group is responsible for all children in the Tenbury area who are at risk of being, or are already, excluded from mainstream education.
